This morning, I was re-reading Dr. Sha’s Book, Soul Communication, and he states that “Love will melt all blockages.” He references connecting with the Divine and that the Divine’s love for us will melt away the blockages that impede our health. I believe that my earlier blog references to finding your Inner Divine to connect with your Higher Power are right in line with Dr. Sha’s statement.
Then I started thinking about love, and, of course, that brought me around to thinking about Sally.
Here is the entry in my daily Parkinson’s journal from one year ago today:
“10/15/09. 4:00 up and at ’em, ha, ha. Started the day by dropping my espresso cup on the kitchen floor. Tile is very unforgiving. Oh well, I need to pay more attention to what I am doing. Today is the last day of the 20th year that Sally and I have been married. This last month is something we never could have foreseen. However, every day, I love Sally more than the day before. She is my one constant in this ever-changing world. She does everything for me. Tomorrow, I will look at her and wish her happy anniversary and wish there was more I could do for her.”
Sally, it took me nine months, but I got better for you, and for us. Thank you for being strong when I had no strength left.
Love does conquer all. For those of you fighting Parkinson’s, please do not try to do this alone. If you do not have somebody close to help you, please reach out to someone in a support group, or a house of worship, or please send me a note and I will do my best to help you. I was blessed beyond comprehension by my Higher Power and by Sally in my fight against Parkinson’s, and I will help others in any way I can.
As Dr. Sha would say: “I have the power to heal myself. You have the power to heal yourself. Together we have the power to heal the world.”
All my best,
Howard
