Fighting Parkinson’s, and it’s time to heal the world

“I have the power to heal myself.” And I did. “You have the power to heal yourself.” Marie did, and you are. “Together we have the power to heal the world.” It is true. The time is now!

I would like to share with you what has been occurring with me and the Recipe for Recovery. A friend of mine who is an MD, not a neurologist, but who is on the faculty at the University of South Florida Medical College, has been meeting with me over the last 6 months to better understand all of the aspects of the Recipe for Recovery. Recently, after much study, and much research regarding Parkinson’s, he asked if he could assist me in presenting the Recipe for Recovery to the established medical community. Needless to say, I was thrilled. My friend, Frederick Slone, MD, knew me for 18 years pre-Parkinson’s, saw me with the disease, and has seen me since recovery.

Out of respect for my neurologist, I felt I wanted to tell him what my friend Fred and I were planning on doing. I scheduled an appointment and saw my neurologist on December 22, 2011. After my exam, where my neurologist found me to be symptom free again, I explained to him what Fred and I were planning. My neurologist listened to me, reviewed the Recipe for Recovery on my site, and reviewed what people have been writing on the site about their own recovery. He then told me he wanted to be involved; I was overwhelmed. We will be putting information together to see if we can be published and do a clinical study of the Recipe for Recovery where my doctor will be the neurologist seeing the participants. Our plan is that he will see the participants at the beginning, and then at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. I will be teaching them the Recipe for Recovery and coaching them through the process.

I need your assistance in making this happen.

First, I want to be clear what I am talking about. I do not need your participation for the clinical study itself. You do not need to come to Tampa or be seen by my neurologist. The clinical study is anticipated to take place in the Tampa, Florida, USA area and will be with newly diagnosed patients who have not taken medications and who have not started the Recipe for Recovery. Then, we can truly study the Recipe.

However, in order to get approved for this clinical study, we need to present evidence to a board that people diagnosed with Parkinson’s who have been doing some or all of the Recipe have been seeing a benefit in doing the Recipe. This is where I need your help, and this is where, as a group, we have the power to take the first step in healing the Parkinson’s world!

The people who have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and are seeing a benefit will be written up as case studies to support our application for the clinical study. Their names will not be included, so rest assured that if you provide information and are one of the case studies, it will be anonymous.

If you have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and are doing some or all of the Recipe and seeing a benefit, we will need a copy of your neurologist’s medical records reflecting your diagnosis so we can include you. Even though you will be presented in an anonymous case study, when we present the case studies to the board, we need to be able to represent that each case study is a person where we have seen the neurological diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease.

When I say doing some or all of the Recipe and seeing a benefit, the benefit can be: symptoms not getting worse, symptoms improving, an improved attitude about recovery, better relationships with family and friends, correction of bowel issues, return of sense of smell, an increase in energy, a lessening of medications, not having to increase medications even though your neurologist has suggested an increase, a calming of mind chatter, people telling you that you look better or healthier, etc. You be the judge — if you are doing some or all of the Recipe and see any benefit at all, and you can get your Parkinson’s medical records to me, I would like for you to be involved as a case study supporting our application for a clinical study.

If you have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and you are doing some or all of the Recipe for Recovery and seeing a benefit, and you want to be one of the case studies supporting our application for a clinical study, please send me a copy of your neurological records including your Parkinson’s diagnosis.

You can send them to me by any of the following methods:

1. Scan and email to howard@fightingparkinsonsdrugfree.com.
2. Fax to 928-833-6817 (USA number).
3. Mail to Howard Shifke, 2714 Chambray Lane, Tampa, Florida 33611, USA.

When you send me your neurological records, please include:
Your contact information.
Age and gender.
When you were diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
Are you taking medications? If yes, which ones, dosages, and for how long.
How long have you been doing part, or all, of the Recipe for Recovery?
How often do you do part, or all, of the Recipe for Recovery?
What benefits are you experiencing?

You will remain anonymous, and your information will be shared with the two doctors with whom I am working only. (If your information is in a language other than English, I will have to share it with an additional doctor who can translate it).

“I have the power to heal myself.” And I did.
“You have the power to heal yourself.” Marie did, and you are.
“Together we have the power to heal the world.” The time is now. Here is our opportunity. The more case studies we can present to the board, the greater our chance of being approved for a clinical study of the Recipe for Recovery.

In advance, I am grateful to those of you who have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and are doing some or all of the Recipe for Recovery and seeing a benefit, and are now going to be sending me your neurological records.

We are here.
The time is now.
Let’s show them all, yes, “TOGETHER WE HAVE THE POWER TO HEAL THE WORLD!”

Aren’t you worth it?

All my best,

Howard

    Hi Howard!
What excellent news. I don’t know if I can participate, but still I find it very interesting. I am looking forward to hear more about it. I think this a new paradigme. Parkinson’s is no longer irreversible- Thank you.
    Yours Anni

I am so excited about this study, Howard! As you already know, I am “in”! I am just awaiting my medical records and will send them to you after I receive them. I really believe this is just the beginning. More people will know about the Recipe for Recovery through this study, and therefore will have the opportunity for recovery! Awesome!

    Blessings,
    Teri

Leo

    Translation:

Well my dear friends, I had a major depression and I won without pills; herbal teas and only through meditation on the theme of self-love…I think it’s very important to love our being and everything around and then our peace and relaxation comes over us and we can withdraw the disease symptoms. As Howard told me, I talked to every part of my body with love, and it was pleasant, and away went the depression. I love you all. Leo

  15. Regina Schutte says:

    Dear Howard,
I will take this information to the Head of Neurology at an academic hospital here in the Netherlands. We are seeing him on May 10th. He is a young guy who’s open to a lot of new things. Because we have already embarked John Coleman’s Parkinson’s Recovery Program (Australia) last January, we will stick to that for now and hopefully, somehow we can all join forces and make the world Parkinson’s free. The key is that you and John and a lot of other people have discovered the power within yourselves to heal. If I will show this to Dr. Bloem, he surely should get excited and start a revolutionary new approach to helping patients to get rid of Parkinson’s.
With immense gratitude and warm wishes,
    Andy and Regina

      Hi Andy and Regina,
I appreciate your enthusiasm and your willingness to show this information Dr. Bloem. It would be wonderful if he was to look at Parkinson’s through different lenses.
      Blessings to you both,
      Howard
