Fighting Parkinson’s, and website and workshop updates

There are a few things I want to post to bring you up to date on what is going on with my website and workshops. Also, for those of you who have yet to read my post from earlier this week or read it before there were any comments, please take a look at the post and the comments. The feedback I have received thus far is that the posts and the comments have been very meaningful. Here it is: Fighting Parkinson’s, and acceptance at a deeper level.

Website. On January 1, 2013, I posted a Survival Guide for the Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery™ and your recovery. To make things easier and so that it will be a continuing guide you can access, I created a permanent page entitled “Survival Guide/FAQ.” From time to time, I will be adding more categories and links. You can access it at any time by clicking the Survival Guide/FAQ link on the menu of pages above, just below the picture of the sky and bird.

Workshops.

Atlanta. My Atlanta workshop is a week from tomorrow, January 26, 2013. Details and a registration link are on my Workshops page. I am looking forward to meeting many of you.

Tampa. My Tampa workshop location has been reserved. It will take place on February 16, 2013 at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, Meeting Room II, 4537 Lowell Drive, Tampa, Florida 33618. Further details and a registration link are on my Workshops page. I am looking forward to meeting many of you at that workshop as well.

As we head into this weekend, please remember to stay focused on living your life, not your Parkinson’s symptoms. The more times you can look at your changing symptoms and say, “Apparently, this is necessary for my Parkinson’s recovery,” the more you move away from Parkinson’s fears and move into life’s joys.

We are here to live our lives to the fullest, not live our Parkinson’s. You are so much more than Parkinson’s symptoms! I know you can do it.

You are worth it!!!

All my best,

Howard

  1. Howard, your Survival Guide/FAQ is an amazing resource…. I’m so appreciating the care, thoughtfulness and organization that went into this. My feeling of gratitude is overflowing imagining how very helpful this will be for all of us….and I imagine it would also be especially helpful for people new to the site….is this a book in the making perhaps?….if so, I’m guessing it’s 90% written!

Also, I so enjoyed the comments from the last blog post…. thank you all for contributing these…. the mutual caring and sharing continues to inspire and motivate me!

Waiting for your Atlanta workshop 🙂

    • Howard says:

      Hi Dipti,
I am excited to see you at the Atlanta workshop, too. It will be great for the people at the workshop to meet and hear a daughter of Pratima talk about Pratima’s recovery. See you Saturday.
      Blessings,
      Howard

For those of you attending upcoming workshops, I can tell you that meeting Howard on Skype was great… meeting him in person at the Seattle workshop was the best! How powerful to meet Recovery face to face, to hear Howard’s truth and be encouraged to make it my own. His lovely daughter Genevieve was there as well – what a treat to hear about Howard’s recovery from her perspective! I look forward to giving my own kiddos the opportunity to share my recovery story! Have fun at the upcoming workshops fellow PD’ers!
