Fighting Parkinson’s, and three years symptom free

Three years with no Parkinson’s symptoms. Three years with no Parkinson’s Disease. I am grateful.

Recently, I was asked “What do you do everyday to maintain your health?” Here was my response:

“I spend time with God, I meditate, and I do about 15 minutes of basic Qigong exercises (sometimes, just do Standing and Balance for 15 minutes) in the morning. And, I live my life by doing what I write about (except the Recipe which I have not done since my recovery except to prepare for workshops). How else could I write for over three years from my heart? I have no negative emotions, they come from the mind. I learned from God to view the world from my heart. For example, if somebody has an unkind word for me when I have not been unkind to them, I have compassion for their suffering — if they are being unkind for no reason at all, I look beyond their words and realize they are suffering from something in their soul, or their mind, or their body. If I choose to be angry at them, it does nothing to relieve their suffering and it creates suffering in me. So I choose to have compassion for them, try to help them ease their load so to speak, and then I let it go.

I view life with full acceptance. Whatever is happening is happening, “Okay,” that is the reality of the situation, so I accept it. Whether I choose to like what is happening or not does not change that it is happening. It only changes how I feel on the inside. So, I accept it is happening and I choose to remain happy. And then I do something about what just happened if it is something I need to deal with. Acceptance and solutions…no negative emotions, and no fear.

It is living in the moment.”

The way I live my life now is not far from where I was needing to live my life in order to recover from Parkinson’s. Of course, when I had Parkinson’s, I did the Recipe every day.

I have been been doing Parkinson’s Coaching full time for over two years, and for that opportunity to work with those of you who have signed up for coaching, I am grateful.

In celebration of my being three years symptom free from Parkinson’s, I have an offer for you to help make Parkinson’s Coaching more accessible. I offered this same offer last year and it went well for quite a few of you.

If you sign up by June 30, 2013 for my One-Month Parkinson’s Coaching Package, the cost of your first month of coaching will be $350. That is a 30% reduction from the regular cost of $500.

The One-Month Parkinson’s Coaching Package includes:
Four one-hour conferences with me, by phone, Skype, or in person; and Unlimited email communication with 24-hour or less response time.

With this first-month $350 offer, you will receive the full One-Month Parkinson’s Coaching Package as if you had paid the regular full cost of $500.

Here is a little more information about my Parkinson’s Coaching. As you know, I have provided you with the Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery™ at no cost, and many of you have emailed me that you are working on it. That is great. What I have learned from many who I am coaching is that it is not the starting the Recipe for Recovery that is the hard part, it is the sticking with it that is the hard part.

A large part of the inability to stick with it is not understanding fully what you are experiencing. With Parkinson’s Coaching, we are in continuous communication. I can relate what is happening with you to my own experience, and provide you with the explanations, comfort, and continuing support to keep you on your path to your recovery.

Also, there are special circumstances for those who cannot do the Qigong exercises because of physical limitations — this has appeared with those of you either on medications or supplements, as well as some of you who are not taking medications or supplements but who have had Parkinson’s long enough that the exercises as described are not possible at this time. With Parkinson’s Coaching, I have re-designed the Qigong exercises, per individual, to make them just as meaningful and worthwhile for those with extreme physical limitations as they are for those who do not have these limitations.

Finally, some people who are on medications or supplements are under the impression that all of the “symptoms” they are experiencing are Parkinson’s symptoms. However, sometimes, they are experiencing side effects of the medications and supplements that are not Parkinson’s symptoms at all. With Parkinson’s Coaching, I have assisted many people in not only understanding these differences, but also, in reducing their medications, including nineteen people so far who have completely eliminated their medications by following my methodology for reduction and elimination of medications.

Congratulations! What an inspiration to us. So different from a “theoretical” protocol. I knew there had to be a better way and you’ve showed us. Thank you for being a living example.

  5. Marie says:

    Congratulations, Howard!!!
You are a continuing inspiration! Your message came at a good time. Just yesterday I was cursing a neighbor who had stolen the small stream of irrigation water I get for the week during my one hour.
While I do not hold on to anger like I used to, I have not reached the place where my initial response is compassion. Still have work to do! Thanks for the reminder.
    Love, Marie

  12. Dom says:

Great work brother. I’m three years diagnosed by the mainstream medical establishment to the month. No meds, people dont notice the slight tremor L hand. Im slowing down from a hectic work pace, still havn’t applied the Howard recipe, tried a few exercises. OMG Im naughty I know. I think I will do it this month. I eat well but really went for life since 2002, including night shifts. Spending Qi and gambling with Jing. Lol. Man my situation is complex and this is a public forum…suffice to say I know PD is NOT what they think it is.
