Fighting Parkinson’s, and a faith over fear refresher

Faith is necessary to start this journey to your cure. You need to know you will be cured one day and picture yourself cured. Fear, as we know, tends to get in the way. Recently, I have had a number of people explain to me how fear keeps permeating their lives and how it has a tendency to derail their recoveries. I have provided them with a faith over fear refresher, and today I will share it with you.

Faith opens your heart and propels you into action to cure yourself. On the other hand, fear paralyzes you in your tracks and reduces you to non-action. Please remember: Faith without action is meaningless for Parkinson’s recovery.

The Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery® provides all of the action you need to take for your recovery.

Think about this: Parkinson’s by definition is a certain set of symptoms. If you have Parkinson’s, then you will have a certain set of symptoms. It is the subjective, judgmental way in which you look at the symptoms that makes you afraid.

YOU HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR WITH THIS RECOVERY!

It is your mind that makes you afraid. As I have said before, lose your mind and find your heart. This is how you lose your fear and find your faith. Be in your heart, find your faith, and find a good, healing reason why everything is happening. Create a positive subjective, judgmental way to look at your symptoms.

When something “different” occurs, tell yourself, “Okay, I accept what is happening and that it is necessary in my recovery.” Make this your new subjective, judgmental way to look at your Parkinson’s and your life. “Okay, I accept what is happening and that it is necessary in my recovery…and in my life.” That’s it! That is it the giant step you need to take to lose your mind and open your heart…open your heart to yourself.

You can do this!

YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!

All my best,

Howard

    Dear Howard,
What can I say but thank you, thank you, thank you. You are helping me re- remember all the lessons that I have learned as I cured myself of cancer, naturally. That was about 35 yrs ago. Every time I read one of your posts, I find myself saying, “Amen to that, that is something that I already know and have proven to myself to be true.”
I smile when I say I cured myself, because I was blessed with so much love and support and help from so many amazing people and I know that God was the one that healed me: but just as with Parkinson’s, the recovery was very much a doing process. One that with the cancer took me 2 yrs. The doing part was totally up to me. (I told myself so often, that ” faith without works is dead”. I have lived a very full happy 35 years. It was very much worth it ! I was worth it. Now with Parkinson’s, I am still worth it…as is each and ever person. I have faith now as I had then.

Howard thank you. No matter how much resolve and belief there is, fear has an uncanny way of creeping in and getting in the way. I am regularly having to shoo it away! I’m finding that as I progress on my journey of discovery, that my fears seem to lessen and that I am more at peace. It’s great to have a reminder.

As Waseema says: ….”.fear has an uncanny way of creeping in and getting in the way.”
Just when I think I have mastered it, it already is creeping back in little bits and
pieces. I’m so thankful for these posts. Just knowing there are others in the same place
as I, gives me hope and encouragement….Thank-you, Howard….thanx to you all……

Thank you, Howard, for your wonderful posts: they refresh, invigorate and renew! Love and blessings, Jane

  6. Melanie says:

    Howard,
Thank you for the clarity of this post. Although you have written about this many times before for some reason it all came together now for me. I have had a struggle for sometime now putting it all in perspective and gathering all that I’ve learned and together so that I can fine-tune the recovery process. I have been working hard on the physical aspect as well as spiritual and now I know that I still have the mental and emotional to work on since I now have a clear picture of what it’s going to take to recover. The coaching has also been a great help to me as well. Thank you for all you have done to help me. You will never know how much you’re appreciated. With much love and gratitude, Melanie

I too experience and can identify with Penny and Judy’s views of how FEAR can sometimes creep in, and get in the way of our Recovery progress.
Just recently came across a quote that helped me.
“COURAGE IS NOT THE ABSENCE Of FEAR BUT RATHER THE JUDGMENT THAT SOMETHING ELSE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN FEAR.”

    (Ambrose Redmoon)

Hope these quoted words help out in some way for you.
    Lynda
