Fighting Parkinson’s, and the Tampa Workshop 2014 was outstanding!

As you know, on Saturday, July 19, 2014, I had my first workshop of 2014 taking my Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery&#0174 on the road. The venue was Tampa, FL, where I live, and the day was absolutely outstanding! Imagine: 19 of us, some with Parkinson’s, some of their spouses and partners and children and friends, some from Florida, some from Arkansas, Massachusetts, and Minnesota, all in one place with one purpose…Parkinson’s recovery.

The room was alive with Parkinson’s recovery. Imagine being in a room full of people who understand how you move and how you feel. You could see it in their eyes and hear it in their words and feel it in their hearts.

Once we got going full tilt into the workshop, people were asking questions, sharing ideas, telling their own stories…the room was abuzz with excitement and recovery. And, when I started demonstrating the Recipe, the people joined in, doing the Recipe with new-found friends.

One of our friends, Ken, brought his Thera Cane Massager. He demonstrated for the group how you can do Governing Vessel acupressure with the use of the Thera Cane Massager. It was that kind of day, filled with love and sharing.

Speaking of love and sharing, my wife Sally was there. And, she now is an active presenter in the workshops, providing information on dietary considerations, including healthy choices, menu planning, cooking tips, and sample recipes. At the end of her presentation, Sally handed out a packet of 20 recipes. Also, she had prepared blueberry chutney and artichoke/walnut spread, and everybody got a taste as Sally explained that these could go on crackers, be eaten with vegetables, or spread on bread to jazz up a sandwich.

My Recipe heals the soul, mind, and body, and from the looks on the faces of the people at the workshop, I feel that Sally recipes heal the soul, mind, and body as well. A recipe section (Sally’s recipes) is in the works to be added to the website.

At the end of the workshop, we were so in the moment of Parkinson’s recovery, I almost forgot that we needed a picture for all of you, something I forgot at my previous workshop last year in Los Angeles (you can click the pictures for larger views).

When you look at the faces of this group, we may not look like a bunch of people at the end of a 7-hour workshop, the final 3 hours of which were learning and practicing the physical part of the Recipe. However, this is what a room full of people look like, even after 7 hours, when they are filled will faith and real hope of recovery. By the end, everybody knew recovery was within their reach, and their faces show it. How wonderful is that! (For those of you who are wondering, Sally is in the middle of the front row in black with the pink sweater draped across her shoulders in the top picture).

Please take inspiration from the Tampa workshop group. Look in their eyes and feel their faith in recovery. They know recovery is within their reach…you need to know it too!

You are worth it!!!

All my best,

Howard

Nice Howard. Well done. Glad your back on the road again with Sally giving folks an opportunity to understand parkinson’s from the perspective of “hey I can beat this because I am worth it.”

I attended the workshop. I’m in the back row, third from the right, blue shirt. How wonderful it was to be in a room full of people just like me! It was great hearing Howard speak. What a big heart he has! And, love: it’s palpable. It was great to meet Sally. Can’t wait to try some of the recipes. And, can’t wait for the next Tampa workshop. Can’t come soon enough to suit me!
