Fighting Parkinson’s, and your fear is not real

That’s right…your fear is not real. Your fear is in your mind and you need to face it and let go of it. Fear and FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real) seem to be issues that keep popping up even for those doing the Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery®, so, here is another go at it: Get out of your mind and into your heart, choose faith over fear, and fearlessly be your own cure for Parkinson’s!

In the past, I posted a trailer for a movie called After Earth because it looked like a good movie. I really like Will Smith, and it had an important message about fear. The movie did not get good reviews, but when I watched it, I loved the movie — I tend to think the critics were looking for a Will Smith high-action sci-fi thriller, so they were disappointed. I was looking for a deep discussion of fear, and I was elated.

The topic came up in a coaching Skype this week, so I am revisiting After Earth in conjunction with fear and FEAR. I need to provide you a small background and promise to not ruin the movie. Imagine a future where humans leave Earth because everything has evolved to kill humans. One creature in particular is the deadliest of them all, and the only sense perception it has is the smell of humans’ fear. Essentially, if you exhibit fear, it can track you and kill you. When Will Smith’s son in the movie, son Jaden in real life, asks Will Smith what happened the day he learned to not fear the creature, after an explanation of the events, here is what he tells Jaden about fear:

“Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity. Do not misunderstand me, danger is very real, but fear is a choice. We are all telling ourselves a story and that day mine changed.”

So, in their world, fear or FEAR becomes a matter of life and death when confronted by the creature that smells fear. The creature leaves the remains of previous kills in the open so a human who sees it becomes afraid and then the creature can track that human by the smell of his fear. Fear becomes the choice of your life: If you choose fear, the creature smells your fear and kills you. If you choose faith (that by letting go of fear you learn there was nothing to be afraid of), then you become invisible to the creature and you live. You can kill the creature and it does not even know you are there.

In our world, let’s call the creature Parkinson’s. The Parkinson’s can smell your fear. It gives you a bigger tremor, or a bit more stiffness, or some extra slowness or fatigue, and you experience fear, or FEAR. But it all is in your mind. You become fearful of becoming complete debilitated — this is fear of things that do not at present exist and may not ever exist. And then the Parkinson’s eats you alive. It is not a quick kill like in the movie. No, it is a slow kill filled with a lifetime of fear.

If you live and die by what your symptoms are doing, then you fall into lifetime of fear. It is a vicious cycle of FEAR. Although the false evidence appears real, it is only on your mind. You are telling yourself a story, and that story will kill you because it jumps from one fear to the next to the next. You forget to live because you are living and dying your Parkinson’s symptoms, completely forgetting to live your life.

And, the fear primarily comes from the current medical viewpoint of Parkinson’s, which does not include doing the Recipe. Can’t you see that the current medical viewpoint of Parkinson’s has created a creature in your mind, a creature you feel you must fear — progressively degenerative neurological disease of which they do not know the cause and for which they have no cure. If you stay in your mind and choose fear, their creature provides you a lifetime of misery toward a slow uncomfortable death.

There is a different choice. Be in you heart. Choose Faith.

If you choose faith, there is no fear and you slay the creature Parkinson’s. And you live…really live! Fearlessly!!!

Faith says that the Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery® is a cure for Parkinson’s.
Faith says that you are your own cure.
Faith says that no matter what your symptoms look like, you have nothing to be afraid of if you are doing the Recipe.
Faith says, “Fear is not real.

Faith says, “I have been afraid every time a symptom has changed where I have not liked the change. I realize now that if I am doing the Recipe, I am only getting better, never worse, no matter what my symptoms are doing. I am letting go of my fear of the future and living in the moment. I am refusing to tell myself a story of fear that I am getting worse. Today, my story changes! I am embracing the Recipe and knowing:
Parkinson’s is curable.
I am my own Parkinson’s cure.
I am halting, slowing, and reversing the progression of my Parkinson’s.
I am extraordinary.
I am recovery.”

AND, I AM WORTH IT!!!

All my best,

Howard

    Translation:
To understand how fear is self-reinforcing, we have to stop and see one of the laws of conscience:
“What you keep in your mind tends to manifest itself.”
What this means is that any thoughts that consistently keep in mind and consistently give energy, tend to come to our life according to the way that our mind has kept.
    Therefore, fear breeds fearful thoughts.
The more we keep these thoughts in mind, chances are that the dreaded event happens in our life, which in turn reinforces our fear.
The remedy against fear and against many other problems, is within us.
Fear and anxiety are created by our mind. If we convince ourselves that those emotions are inventions of the mind, we can banish them.
If fear has become a habit, a pattern of negative thinking, we should remind ourselves that is neither real nor solid.
We may think that fear is real because of our habit of clinging to it, but if we do let go we will be surprised to discover that after all it is just an illusion and we can learn other laws of consciousness:
“Fear is cured by love,” the loving energy has the ability to heal.
Blessings to all and think with love and know the cure is in our hands.
THANKS FOR YOUR UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, HOWARD

  5. Howdy Howard….again, another soul-enriching blog post. How wonderful it is to know that even when fear is present, we have a choice to buy into the fiction of our own creation or be embraced by universal life….how liberating is that?

I couldn’t agree with angela more. And, I find that anger usually follows.
    Thanx, Howard…..priceless!

  7. Barry says:

This is the bottom line. Thanks Howard. The other thing that has been helpful in this regard for me is Howard’s prayer, for releasing fear and turning it over to God, which he has cited in previous blogs.

  8. Debbie says:

    Dear Howard,
One of the things that I like best about the Recovery Recipe ( other than that it WORKS… ,which is a biggie lol) is that it is so doable by anyone. Everything that you have done to be Parkinsons free, I can do . It doesn’t matter my age, my status in life, where I live, or where my point of health was at when I started. I just had to start and then keep going and going knowing that my best was always good enough.
Thanks for sharing a program that I can duplicate. I am not afraid.
As long as I am doing the Recovery Recipe I know that I am getting better. I will keep going and going. Parkinsons is curable and I am my own Parkinsons cure.
What an amazing gift you have given to me .
    Thank you, Thank you !
    Have a wonderful weekend,
    Debbie

  9. Lohren says:

Thanks Howard, you are right on mark. I would recommend to everyone Gregg Braden’s DVD called The Divine Matrix. It gives scientific proof of what you are putting forth.
    With gratitude, Lohren

  10. Helen says:

Thank you Howard. Yes I agree Love is the banister of fear. If I remember that and to hand it over to the divine source release grace happens. Thank you for your love Howard and care

  11. Helen says:

    Banisher I meant

  12. Melanie says:

    Hi Howard,
Yes fear creeps in without even realizing it’s there. We have to constantly be aware and banish it! It is a constant battle but doable! Thanks for the constant reminder!

  13. Jane says:

This is totally fascinating. When fear (and all thoughts and emotions) and past and future are known to be illusory, all that’s left is what’s real: awareness, oneness, love, luminosity…
Thank you, Howard, and blessings, Jane

  14. Margee says:

Wow! What a visual! Can’t wait to see the movie!
Your discussion on fear brought to mind the account of Job, who said, “For the thing which I greatly FEAR comes upon me, and that which I am AFRAID befalls me.” He, also, said, “In ‘thoughts’ from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, FEAR came upon me and TREMBLING, which made all my bones SHAKE.” Interesting!
I have seen in my own life, that, whatever I focus on gets bigger and, likewise, whatever I am looking for, that, I ,also, find… So, I, personally, work on choosing my thoughts carefully, and, strive to avoid any stinkin’ thinkin. ‘
Anyway, Howard, once again, thank you for sharing your experience, strength, and hope with us. It must feel so good to lay your head down at night and know that God has used you to make such a difference in the lives of so many people. and to wake up in the morning and know that you will be helping so many more. You are a blessing to us all!
    HUGS!
    Grateful Tortoise

I do not know what I would do without this website. I have been treated for Parkinson’s for only six weeks by a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor who I have known for years and already have shown rapid improvement in many symptoms and feel so much better. The brain fog lifted a week ago, constipation gone, sense of smell coming back, energy way better, etc. I also started doing a lot of Howards thirty day challenge and was feeling very good about taking charge, just feeling the constant energy increase and movement. Then, I went for a follow up visit to the neurologist I had seen once before, who diagnosed me. I explained that I was choosing to try TCM to treat the Parkinson’s. I knew more or less what she would say and she said it. “Did this doctor say he could cure Parkinsons? Because It Isn’t Curable!” Then she ran down the western meds other than LDopa and their side effects and said it was important to get started early as that would flatten out the curve of the progress of the progressive degeneration of the nervous system. I said I would be giving the TCM six months and left. I came home and started getting scared, I grabbed my iphone and got on the website for support. I see the positive changes, I see that I’m better, I believe I can heal my brain, I will not give in to the fear. When I see the difference between how I was feeling yesterday and how I’m feeling today I believe the word is disempowered. I’m taking the power back, I trust my TCM doc and I trust you guys who report that you have healed yourselves, if you can do it, I can do it too.

Thank you God for directing me here and thank you Howard for being.

Hi. I love this blog. Fear is just a thing outside us, we determine whether we ignore it or have faith. I saw this site, I didn’t follow the recipe or even read the blogs but it gave me strength to know others had done it. I wanted to do it on my own. It took me a month to just realize fear was there, and that Nia Dancing, belly dancing and painting and the very strength of my own body was showing me that (a) connecting neural pathways is doable and (b) every time I felt fear my body froze and I had to face the fear. I’m off the meds and the journey continues. Gently going, resting, listening to my body, eating when hungry, and putting happiness first. Keep your eyes turned on what makes you happiest. Dancing, music, my kids were what helped me. Friends too, but they can only give guidance and only you knows you. Each healer-friend provided a step for me. I took the last few (dancing) steps. Thank you Howard for this messsage of faith and fearlessness. A whole new world awaits.
