Fighting Parkinson’s, and where it all began, part 16

Seven years ago, I began doing the Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery®. Of course, back then it did not have a name…it was just what I was doing. At the same time, I began keeping a hand-written Parkinson’s Daily Journal. It is time to share my journal with all of you. Here is my October 13, 2009 journal entry, seven years ago today.

“10/13/09. Tuesday. Up at 4. Slow again. Got to the kitchen at 4:09, unbelievable. Sally and I discussed Dr. Sha and some of the things he has to offer.

I remember typing up a # chant for the brain, and I found it. I did it this morning and my entire head vibrated. I will do it for 5 minutes at least three times a day and see if it helps. It was energizing.

Lunch was great – since nobody is around, I try really hard to get past the freeze that occurs when I pick up any food with the utensil. No luck…it moves to my mouth very slowly in about 6-8 independent movements.

I tried left-handed and thought my bones would crack before I could get my food to my mouth. How disappointing. Did the kidney and liver Qigong today just like every other day.

Sally and I discussed other things from Dr. Sha’s Soul Mind Body Medicine book. I will implement them.”

The Recipe started growing. The # chant is Brain Vibration Chanting. The additional things from Soul Mind Body Medicine are Near Hand Far Hand, Parts 1 and 2.

As far as the rest of what I wrote, slow, stiff, couldn’t get my food to my mouth without a fight…it was another day with Parkinson’s, much like the one before and probably much like the day to come. Acceptance that it was going to be this way did not come without the occasional “unbelievable” or “how disappointing.” I think all of you understand that.

You are worth it!!!

All my best,

Howard

Please note: I will be posting one post per day through the middle of November. If you subscribe to receive email notifications when I post new blog posts and you would prefer to not receive those daily email notifications, simply send me an email at howard@fightingparkinsonsdrugfree.com, and let me know that you do not wish to receive a daily email with a link to each post. I will remove you from the list through the middle of November and add you back on the list after the middle of November. However, I still would recommend you checking the blog on a regular basis as it will contain very useful information for understanding my journey and helping with your journey.
