Fighting Parkinson’s, and Helen Gill in Australia is one year symptom free!!!

Wow!!! Helen is one year symptom free. Last year, as many people were winding the year down and looking toward 2016, there was Helen, chipping away, day by day, all the way to her full recovery. On December 21, 2015, I posted Fighting Parkinson’s, and Helen Gill in Australia is symptom free!!! Here we are one year later. Congratulations, Helen!

Last year, this is how I began the post announcing Helen’s full recovery:

That is not a typo. On September 22, 2011, Helen found the website and posted her first comment introducing herself to us. Over the years, she and I have become great friends, and many of you have been inspired by her words. Helen often writes comments on the blog sharing her journey. In fact, as you will see below, she even posted a comment to my first November challenge in 2011, stating, “Yeah to everyone I am in for November too!” And now, HELEN IS SYMPTOM FREE!!!”

Helen has inspired us all, and over the last year, she has continued to work on her recovery from her stroke. It has been a difficult battle, but Helen is determined to have a full recovery from the stroke issues. If you were inspired by Helen’s full recovery, this might be a good time to give her a little extra love and encouragement in her battle to fix the stroke issues with her foot.

As many of you have seen over this last year, Helen has continued to offer friendship and encouragement on the blog. When I read her words, they always give me a smile.

I would like to take the time now to post one of the most important things Helen did in her recovery, and one of the most important things you can do in your recovery…learn to love yourself. This was posted as a comment by Helen as she was working on her recovery and congratulating Marie on the third anniversary of Marie’s full recovery:

Congratulations Marie. What a woman! Such a loveing joyous photo of Howard and you. Thank you for sharing your self your recovery. I looked at myself in the mirror a few days ago, not at my skin or hair, but deep into my eyes. I found someone there I respect, admire for her courage, strength and love. i felt compassion for myself and all I have experienced in life. i saw a shy, hurt, self as well. I kept looking at her and gave her love. I now am feeling a relationship and soul love for myself. I am going to keep doing this mirror looking till I am healed. Falling in love with my depth my individuality, my soul. People have been telling me how well I look. The thing is I am feeling that. No meds still although the specialist encourages that. Healthier, more content freer me. Thank you to divine grace, Howard’s inspiration and all those and there are many who help me in this journey of life. Whew! Xx love to all.”

Thirteen months later, Helen reached her full recovery, symptom free, cured of Parkinson’s. Congratulations, Helen!

Four years and three months of not giving up on herself. Four years and three months of every day having to be grateful for life and having to try to find the strength and courage to continue her journey in life and Parkinson’s recovery.

Thank you Helen. You continue to inspire all of us. I love you and am grateful for you never giving up on yourself, no matter what obstacle seemed to stand in your way.

Who’s next? What are you waiting for?

You are worth it!!!

All my best,

Congratulations Helen, great to hear that you are still rocking on in sorting your foot out. I have been wondering how you are doing. I started medication a few weeks ago, no significant difference but I am hoping it will give me the strength to do the physical part of The Recipe again. Happy Christmas Helen, and same to all warriors, Howard, Sally and family.
    Big Love, Karen xx

Congratulations Helen. What a blessing it must be to not have pd while
having to deal with your stroke issues. You have already done what the
medical community says is impossible and I hope for the same results
    with your stroke.
Looking in the mirror and feeling love and compassion for me is hard
but I will stay positive and dream what it will be like without pd.
