Fighting Parkinson’s, and being happy

I am grateful for all of the good wishes for seven years being cured that I have received this week on the blog, in emails, and on coaching calls. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you. Today, let’s get together, all of us around the world, and celebrate our lives and our connections to each other…and be happy for this life!

Toward the end of my recovery, I became abundantly grateful to be alive and to have my soul in a human body, even a human body temporarily suffering from the symptoms of Parkinson’s. I saw my life as a gift, one not to be squandered. From that day forward to the present day, I give gratitude for my life every day.

And this opened my heart with joy and happiness. I have been smiling ever since. I realized that happiness is a choice and that I could choose to be happy on the inside no matter what was happening on the outside. What was on the inside was the real me…happy!

Happiness is a choice. So, choose to be happy on the inside and let’s do it together. Here is some motivation:

    Hi Howard, impecible timing my friend .. I was just writing about how much I got out of your last post on Monday. The challenge today is my carer away until next Monday and my son away for weekend with his dad. Fear marching all around the house and trying to take residence in my head. Your video is my favourite song and was gorgeous to feel the goosebumps ( dopamine ) fizzing through my body and brain as I watched the video.
    Joyous! Bless you! I truly have felt a big shift in me this week. It was reading your post on Monday which reminded me of when I totally believed in my recovery. Not truly felt that since I started meds 6 months ago. The reminder was empowering so back to making that resonate with me again. Powerful ! :-) It totally generates a feeling of happiness and knowing that all is well and happening in the right time, space and sequence! Thank you friend.

    How true Howard! Choosing our thoughts is choosing how we feel. Fighting bad thoughts and choosing happy thoughts is sometimes a struggle but a necessary process for PD sufferers. “Do not worry, be happy.” Let’s do it together!

    Congratulations Howard and Tony on your recovery. Tony, we have all followed Howard’s recovery. Would you be able to give all of us a brief story on your recovery and when you knew both mentally and physically the point at which you were on the road to recovery.

    Hi to you all. I so admire your positivity and determination to combat this challenge we all are dealing with on a daily basis. Please tell me, how does one cope with the nervousness, terrible anxiety and dizziness, which increases the pain and makes everything so much harder. I am on medication, but not getting much, if any relief from it. No one has come up with any answers for me. I apologize for this post, but I am really down again. so scared and so alone. If only I could see some improvement. Thanks for all your wonderful advise and inspirational posts Howard. And congratulations to you Tony for your recovery. Enjoy!!! Love to all.       Hi Margit,

      Thank you for your comment. In the past, you have expressed that you are not doing the Recipe. The Recipe will assist you with the things that you mention.

      Since you are not doing the Recipe, the best recommendation that I or anybody else on this blog can make to you is to get started doing the Recipe. A good place to get started would be to do the reduced version from my November Challenge of last year,

      Also, here is a post I did about symptoms and side effect relief, so you may find some assistance there as well,

      Hi Margit, sorry to hear you are in a bad way. The nervousness is an absolute
      -itch . You are not alone. Like you, the meds I’m on do sod all. After my afternoon sleep I say I’m on Gods time. Yes it’s a massive challenge but each day I do the recipe as best I can. My legs start of like jelly but I work through the fear as at least if we do the recipe each day we are being proactive in our recovery. Look at Tony only a few months ago he was still getting rigidity and slowness but he dug deep and kept going. Take your day as Veronica once told me a little at a time. Chat to yourself out loud. As Tony once said, Warriors don’t quit! I throw my arms up to heaven and say “I AM a warrior of God, I CAN do this.”
      Doing the Recipe will break down the Fear. Tell your mind “you are wrong, I am getting better.” As Howard says talk back to your mind as often as it throws fear at you AS IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDED on it. Margit you CAN do this. You are NOT ALONE. You have the love of a hundred and more warriors around the world cheering you on. Letting go of the pity party for one, was empowering for me, so I want you to follow my lead and kick ass! Ok warrior?

    Dear Margit……just remember, no matter how long you have been going in the wrong direction, you can always turn around. There are no shortcuts to any place worth going. Realize there is only one of you in the world and know the profoundness of that. You are special and worth fighting for. There is a place and a purpose for you alone in this world. So try and find your greatness and keep your face to the sunshine. God knows exactly where you are and your struggles . We are never alone. I wish you love and courage. Blessings

    We agree with Karen and Veronica, it’s a MUST this Recipe and we all are lucky to have found a way to the recovery. Without Howard’s help and his creating of this wonderful Recipe, even it’s hard to do it every day, we hadn’t a choice!! Once, Werni, some days in the past missed out a part of the exercises and….he felt very, very sad till I noticed, that he was tired to do the whole Recipe…BUT soon he felt much better after Howard’s explanations how important it is!

    Dear Margit, don’t hesitate to start with it, you are worth it and we all are together to support each other with our experiences. We wish you all the best!
