Fighting Parkinson’s, and not fearing increasing symptoms

Lately, I have been hearing this, “On the days when my symptoms are worse, I become afraid that I am getting worse. How did you overcome that fear?” My response has been simple, “On the days when my symptoms were worse, I was not afraid.” Then I have been asked, “How is that possible?” My response is the basis of today’s post.

If you look at the physical part of the Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery®, there are two main elements. The liver Medical Qigong exercises are designed to heal the liver and clean toxins from the body. This results in increased energy in the body. The kidney Medical Qigong exercises, Brain Vibration Chanting, Near Hand Far Hand, etc. are designed to increase energy and elevate it to the brain for distribution to the body.

The physical part of the Recipe is designed to increase energy in the body. When energy is increased and it is able to break through blockages in the energy flows, tremors and other symptoms decrease. When energy is increased and it is not strong enough to break through blockages in the energy flows at that time, but instead is hitting the blockages repeatedly in its attempt to break them open, tremors and other symptoms increase.

Whether the symptoms were decreasing or increasing, it meant the same thing…I was being successful in generating more energy in my body for my recovery. That is why I gave gratitude for the increasing energy no matter what the symptoms exhibited; and I said, “This is part of my recovery” or “this is necessary for my recovery.” It is why I was not afraid.

Everything in the Recipe is designed for recovery of the soul, mind, and body. If you are doing the Recipe, you are recovering from Parkinson’s no matter how your symptoms appear. You do not need to be afraid.

How you progress in your recovery when faced with worse looking symptoms largely is dependent on the attitude you take when looking at symptoms. If you are determining good days and bad days by what your symptoms are doing, you are not understanding this recovery…if you are doing the Recipe, they all are good days.

In order to experience the symptoms at all, you have to be alive. That is a precious gift all in itself. So, when facing the symptoms, you need to realize that you are alive, you are working on your recovery, and you are overcoming the negative thoughts associated with what your symptoms are doing. And then, give gratitude to yourself for the hard work you are doing and give gratitude to your body for increasing your energy.

Please determine how you are doing in your recovery by how you are feeling about yourself and your life in your recovery. Accept yourself for the beautiful, courageous person that you are. You are saying to yourself and the world, “I have the power to heal myself…AND I AM HAVING MY FULL RECOVERY!!!”

Yes you are.

You are worth it!!!

All my best,

Howard

NOTE: We have started a picture gallery. So far, we have 38 pictures of people doing the Recipe or already fully recovered from Parkinson’s (plus some with their spouses or children). One thing you will see in this picture gallery is what I call the “New Faces of Parkinson’s;” people with big smiles filled with hope and faith about recovery. If you would like your picture included, please email it to me at
howard@fightingparkinsonsdrugfree.com.

Click here to see the picture gallery. Also, the picture gallery is a permanent page on the website. On the computer view, it is under the blue picture at the top of each page, listed as “Picture Gallery.” On the mobile view, click the menu (near the top left of the mobile screen, there are three horizontal lines next to the “F” in Fighting). One of the menu choices says “Picture Gallery.”

Isn’t life grand? I’m so thankful to be alive! Today my symptoms were worse, but I’m not afraid. I know I’m getting closer to my full recovery. I said to my PD, bring it on! Let’s get this over with.

We are all very precious human beings and deserve full recovery.

    Love to all

I share this energetic prayer from Joseph Murphy:
The infinite intelligence that created my body, knows all the processes and functions of my body, is healing me now in the divine order, I believe in it, I think, I feel and I definitely and absolutely know that the infinite glory of God becomes manifested in my body in my mind and in my soul. The whole, vitality and life of God flows through me and every atom of my being is transformed by its healing light.

    Hi Karen,

As stated in the post, try to look at this as your hard work doing the Recipe having generated more energy. As a result, you had a lot of shaking. Others have told me that when this occurs, they get out of bed and do Medical Qigong for the Liver.

Most have said that between 4 and 8 rotations gets them settled down and they are able to go back to sleep. Your liver and gallbladder were cleaning toxins in the middle of the night and it literally shook you awake. Please do your best to see this as a positive.

    Love and blessings,
    Howard

Hi Howard, my FEAR yesterday was that this was going to be the new norm. Thank God my body settled down throughout the day. I think it’s that I was thinking that I’ve been doing The Recipe for over three years so felt surely all my blockages are clear by now. Ofcourse I truly don’t know the extent of what needs repairing on the inside. I have always been honest on here so I HAVE to say, I think 5 hours of tremoring shifted something as my legs felt a bit stronger yesterday as my walk felt a tad stronger, still baby steps but knees felt stronger which is FAB! Long may it last! So thank you Howard for encouragement as always. I guess my episode proved this weeks post!
So warriors, I guess he knows his stuff! Lol. Love you Howard. You ROCK!xx

  8. Tony says:

Great post Howard. Recovery is definitely a state of mind. Before my recovery, I had moments where I felt pretty normal and I was able to move very smoothly. What I think happened was I said to myself, “I’m not supposed to move like this, I have Parkinson’s,” and then immediately I would feel stiffness. If you believe that you are getting worse because your symptoms are looking worse, you are mistaken. What I have learned from all of this is that the body will follow the mind. So, set your mind on being completely perfect in movement, and that your body flows as smoothly as water, that you are calm and still, and that your brain is sharp and clear as it was when you were a child. Love to You Howard and all my fellow Warriors!

      Hi Tony,
I’ve had a similar experience a few weeks ago with my hand. It’s been really tight and uncomfortable for months now and yet for two days is it relaxed and I was over the moon but I couldn’t accept it as permanent. So lo and behold it went back to being tight and uncomfortable again. There are lessons to be learnt here!

    • Cap says:

Tony, Thank you SO MUCH for posting your experiences and ultimate success in fighting Parkinson’s with Howard! Did you do the complete Recipe for 2 years, or were there days or periods when you did only part of it? Bless you, Cap
