Fighting Parkinson’s, and Parkinson’s Awareness Month

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month. As a group, we are carrying a message of hope and recovery like nobody else. Let’s work together and make this a Parkinson’s Awareness Month everybody will remember.

I have seen some of the literature from the major Parkinson’s organizations in the States and it is the old gloom and doom story…make people aware that Parkinson’s is a horrific degenerative disease and then ask the people to make a donation for research to try to find a cure.

I have a different message, a message of hope. Parkinson’s is curable, the Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery® is a cure, six of us have been cured doing the Recipe, hundreds of you are reversing your Parkinson’s doing the Recipe, and we have a worldwide community of courageous warriors who are cheering each other on, through thick and thin, all the way to each of their cure.

That is the awareness I am asking you to share. To assist you in sharing the message, I offer you the following.

Recently, I have participated in radio interviews about my story of recovery and my book. Below are three radio interviews, two around twelve minutes and one that is approximately an hour. You may share these interviews to assist you in explaining the message of recovery.

DeAnna Lee Interview With Howard Shifke, Seattle Wolf Entercom Radio

Mike Schikman Interview With Howard Shifke, Mike Schikman Show Harrisonburg Radio

Patrick Timpone Interview with Howard Shifke, One Radio Network

Other things you can do are:
You can tell people about the recovery process yourself, including sharing this post on social media.
You can tell people about my website and they can read it all for themselves.
You can tell people about my book, Fighting Parkinson’s…and Winning, and let them know that they can buy a copy on Amazon. Click here for the book page.

The important part of all of this is AWARENESS OF HOPE! We need to be loud and bold, and scream it from the mountaintops:

“Parkinson’s is curable. We are here, and we are curing ourselves. There is hope for everybody with Parkinson’s.

And…

You are worth it!!!”

All my best,

Howard

    Hi Howard,
Thanks for sending out hope. Thanks for making it so easy for us to share. Sometimes I think fear of the unknown is the worse fear of all. The great way you explain your journey alleviates that fear.
    Have a great day,
    Debbie

    Dear Howard and Recovery community,

Greetings from Kunming, China. So far I have only had the opportunity to hear the first interview, which I enjoyed tremendously. Congratulations, Howard! So wonderful to hear your voice! It is great that you have these opportunities to share your message of hope. As I listened to the interview, I also reflected on my own journeys; it was the Recipe for Recovery that introduced me to Qigong, and that introduced me to Tai Chi; the interest that sparked in Eastern philosophy and Traditional Chinese Medicine changed my life and ultimately brought me to China where this morning I was in a park, doing Tai chi and Qigong with local people. When began following the Recipe for Recovery, I found that Qigong calmed my symptoms, especially the tremors. I vowed that I would do the Qigong everyday for the rest of my life, and I am staying faithful to that vow. Curing me completely from Parkinson’s is more than enough reason to be grateful for the Recipe for Recovery. That is something I celebrate and remember everyday. And the additional gifts I continue to reap from changing my life in accordance with the Recipe for Recovery gives me even more reason to be grateful! Truly has shaped and enriched my life beyond measure. Thank you, Howard!
To those of you following the Recipe, I wish you well and encourage you to take heart and follow the Recipe with confidence and passion.
Sending love from the shores of Green Lake.
    Marie

The interviews are great. Thanks for making it easy to share this. This is the first time I have posted something to Facebook on purpose and I am hoping that all my friends post it far and wide.

  10. Rita and Russ Detweiler says:

    Hi Marie,

My husband, Russ, and I just joined Howard’s community. I have not had time to read all his past blogs yet. Did you post on them when you were doing the Recipe to get well? Please let me know which years and months you posted if you did as I want to read the comments from you, Tony, and Pratima, if there are any, before I read all the other blogs and comments.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

    Warm regards,
    Rita

  11. Karen and Don in Texas says:

Thanks, Howard! I am happy, thrilled, to post this on various places, starting with Facebook.

  12. Karen and Don in Texas says:

I found this site while looking for help for my husband, Don, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and multiple sclerosis. Somewhere along the way, I began having some typical Parkinson’s symptoms. I did not go get a diagnosis from a neurologist; therefore, I don’t count. Nonetheless, I have something to say and I consider this very important! I failed to record the exact date of the last tremmor; however, it has stopped and the symptoms have not returned for approximately two weeks. If anything changes, I will come forth and tell you; however, I am not expecting that to ever happen. I believe! I tell you, I truly believe in this.

    • Howard says:

      Hi Karen,

Congratulations! This is wonderful news. You know what you had and you count as a recovery from whatever it was, as a courageous warrior, and as a beautiful soul. Okay, so it may not count in the eyes of the medical profession absent the “you have Parkinson’s,” being told to you at some point in time, but you are an inspiration to all of us.

Whatever it is that you had, you self-healed using the soul, mind, and body recovery by following the Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery. Good for you.

I am so happy for you and thank you very much for sharing your recovery story with all of us!

      Way to go, Karen!!!

      With love, blessings, and gratitude,
      Howard

    Thank you, Howard 🙂

I’ve been telling all my friends about your recovery, and so far everyone has been very positive, excited, and happy that we have found a method to cure Parkinson’s through your website. I plan to send out an e-mail to everyone to spread your message of hope and success.

    In gratitude,

  19. Veronica Urquhart says:

Dear Howard….thank you so much for those wonderful and informative interviews. I really found the one with Patrick most well presented. He was such a good listener and genuine. Your generosity astounds me Howard, but I know you have a soul purpose for your life these days. This week I changed my neurologist which was right and proper as she turned out to be very interested in what I was doing. So I can honestly say never be afraid to change your doctor if they are not with you on your journey. Let the good Lord guide you and trust your heart. I truly believe the right people will come into our lives at a given time if we pay attention. That’s how Howard came into mine. After those interviews I am sure he will touch many others. God bless you Howard.

  20. Karen in Ireland says:

Hi Howard, great interviews, the guy Patrick was a bit special bless him. You are so articulate and your replies were so informative and clear. Well done my friend. Great to listen to, gives a refresher to us veterans on here. I am guilty of slipping back into sweet treats after my dinner. Acceptance and surrender are two things I am working on so it was great to hear you mention them. I hope all my fellow warriors are all in a good space. I still feel I am learning on this journey and that is why I have not crossed the finish line, But, I have peace in that truth. 🙂
    Big love to all.
    Karen xx

  21. The interview by Patrick Timpone goes very deep… good questions by him and good answers by Howard. I found it helped me re-focus on the journey with renewed determination and faith.
