Fighting Parkinson’s, and Tony C. is one year symptom free!!!

Wow, Tony! One year symptom free. This is monumental. Congratulations!!! One year ago today I posted Fighting Parkinson’s, and Tony C. is symptom free!!! For the last year, Tony has continued to inspire us by periodically commenting on blog posts I have written.

CONGRATULATIONS, TONY! One year symptom free, cured of Parkinson’s. That is absolutely wonderful!!!

Tony and I have remained good friends and are in regular contact. For added inspiration, I want to share with you some of what Tony has been up to over this last year besides periodically posting helpful comments on the blog and cheering all of you on in your recoveries.

Pre-Parkinson’s, Tony was a world class natural champion bodybuilder, model for men’s fashions, and a dancer. He also was a personal trainer and assisted many people with bodybuilding, healthy eating, and weight control.

Over this last year, Tony has resumed bodybuilding and has been assisting others attain championship status as he once held. He has resumed modeling men’s fashions and was at Fashion Week this year, and he has continued dancing. As you can see, he was able to go back to the professions he had before Parkinson’s, but was able to approach them from a joyful dopamine-filled perspective rather than from a stressful, fearful adrenaline-filled perspective.

I have said many times that I stopped doing the physical part of the Recipe after my full recovery, but that the mental and spiritual lessons learned became how I live my life. I am pleased to say that I have seen the same with Tony. Here is the Thanksgiving 2017 message he posted on Facebook five months after his full recovery:

“What I’m Thankful for This Thanksgiving.
Every year on Thanksgiving I write about all the things we should be thankful for but this Thanksgiving is personally special to me because I’m thankful for a second chance at life. This time last year I could barely sit at the dinner table. I remember being so stiff I couldn’t even get the fork to my mouth to eat. I wondered what would become of me and where I would be this time next year. All throughout my journey I never gave up on myself I always believed that the mind can cure anything and that God loved me very much. I’m happy to say a year later I can move around freely and I can do all the things I use to do. Thanksgiving is so much more than Turkeys and stuffing it’s about being thankful for what we have and to never take what we have for granted and most of all to be thankful of who we are and to love ourselves unconditionally for the greatest love of all is the love we have to give. Happy Thanksgiving Love Tony.”

So, my friend Tony, here we are, all of us inspired by you and your recovery. Thank you for not giving up on yourself, and thank you for sharing your life and your story so freely with all of us. Love and blessings to you, brother.

CONGRATULATIONS, TONY!!! ONE YEAR SYMPTOM FREE FULL RECOVERY, CURED FROM PARKINSON’S!!!

Thanks for this wonderful tribute Howard!
All I can say is you are absolutely correct on everything you say about Parkinson’s. I know for a fact it is a disease of thought..what I mean is it’s not something you can physically see like cancer, strokes, heart disease etc. It is a disease of thought; it wasn’t until I started to see myself healthy and happy that my physical symptoms diminished. Doing the physical part of the recipe is great but it is a must to do the mental and spiritual as well.

Do not wake up every morning searching Parkinson’s on the internet, stop looking and reading about Parkinson’s. The doctors are mistaken and if you follow their advice you will have Parkinson’s for the rest of your life and you will only get worse.

Yes it is scary, yes it is painful, it’s hard to move in bed, it’s hard to dress, to eat, to think, to smile, to walk, to talk, I know, trust me, but do not lose your faith in God. Instead, see yourself free and happy, I learned that the mind controls the body and this goes for every situation.

Friends your recovery is not on its way, it is HERE! Believe and let go of the fear and doubt. You are the same person you have always been. Stop worrying about being perfect, only God is perfect, not us. Be foolish, be carefree, be a little sloppy from time to time. Let go of all the things that brought you Parkinson’s and Parkinson’s will let go of you! Much Love to you Howard and all the warriors!

Dear Tony how fabulous you are you again. You have life back. We sometimes in life get so far off the track then we are guided back to ourselves through healing and loving our self. What a wonderful journey when you come out the other side and have huge gratitude for living, love of life, self and others. We have a master guide in Howard and The Divine. God. We will all get there . Love Helen

  5. Stacie R. says:

Howard, thank you for this post. Although I intellectually know that a number of people have recovered, it is extremely encouraging to read true life accounts of what people have experienced and are experiencing. I knew of Tony’s journey but I didn’t realize he has been symptom free for a year. That is truly amazing! It is a gift.
Howard asked, “who will be next?” It will be my husband, Chuck ( who has been fighting this fight for four years). He amazes and inspires me! I see the daily struggles but bigger than that I see the fight. I see my husband leave the house and go to work everyday, still working full time. Chuck has a VERY STRONG will. We talk about the fun things we want to do when he is recovered like taking private dance lessons , roller skating and traveling. Chuck has done magic shows (with me as his assistant) at the Ronald McDonald house and he’s an amazing balloon artist. The day will come when he and I revisit this.
Chuck’s journey of receiving coaching from Howard weekly, following the drug free recipe for recovery, and learning to live beyond the symptoms is leading Chuck to his full recovery one step at a time.

Howard is right…Each and every one of you is worth it.

Thank You Howard for what you do!

    Blessings,
    Stacie

Congratulations Tony. Whoohoo!!!! I wondered what happened to you. You inspires us all with your story because most stories we hear from the world around us are negative. It takes all our awareness to stay focused on the Higher power than the worldly view. I am thrilled for you and your return to your career. You deserve all the blessings God has for you. Thank you Howard for sharing Tony’s good news.

    Love Veronica 🌱🌺

    Dear Tony,

Like all your other well wishers Russ and I are very happy for your hard-won recovery. You gave it the same all-out effort you gave your body-building career.

What stands out for me is that you were able to return to doing all the things you love and did before the Parkinson’s. You and all the others who have healed show the way for all of us-bright lights in a dark world.

    Sincerely,
    Rita and Russ

Tony, it is great to hear your blog post! It is wonderful hearing from Howard every week
and his book is terrific!! My husband Rick is doing the recipe for the past 5 months and
he really appreciated your post this week!! The more the other healed warriors can
write along with Howard, the more beneficial it is to the working warriors doing the
recipe! So I encourage you who have healed with the recipe to write all that you can
as Howard has, because it is very inspiring!!
