Fighting Parkinson’s, and your dopamine is not depleted

Five years ago, a study came out of Copenhagen Denmark explaining that advanced computer models showed that Parkinson’s patients had their dopamine — the dopamine was not depleted, it was just blocked. The study completely supports our theory of Parkinson’s. To give all of you a boost, here it is again!

As you know, it is the position of Western Medicine that the substantia nigra, basal ganglia, in the brain are dying or already dead leading to a depletion of dopamine in the brain. They say they do not know the cause of this nor can they cure it, so they seek to treat symptoms of Parkinson’s with dopamine enhancement and dopamine replacement medications.

Five years ago, a study entitled, “Myth about Parkinson’s disease debunked,” found that “Scanning the brain of a patient suffering from Parkinson’s disease reveals that in spite of dopamine cell death, there are no signs of a lack of dopamine — even at a comparatively late stage in the process.” The study remains unchallenged to date.

For those of you who have been following this blog for a while or have spent any time with the Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery®, you know I always have taken the position that the dopamine is not depleted, only blocked, and that the dopamine faucet is turned down low.

In the introduction to the Recipe, I say:
“I do not believe that the dopamine is depleted or gone. I believe that the body has been working in adrenaline mode and dopamine has taken a back seat, essentially, it has mostly closed the faucet and is not flowing at full capacity. It is why I believe the medications cause Dyskinesia – the body is being given artificial dopamine replacements that are not able to fully assimilate into the system and thus cause uncontrollable movement as opposed to controlled movement.

By listening to my body, talking to my body and examining my electrical impulses, I was able to re-open the dopamine faucet. The result was full recovery with 100% pre-Parkinson’s controlled movement.”

In the Affirmations/Meditations/Prayers section of the Recipe, I say:
“The medical profession says that with Parkinson’s, dopamine is depleted in one’s brain and the basal ganglia controlling movement are 60-80% dead. Having lived in a Parkinson’s body and thought with a Parkinson’s mind, and held my firm faith with a Parkinson’s soul, I can tell you they are incorrect. It is why after nearly 200 years, they are no closer to a cure than when they started. Parkinson’s is an electrical problem and they are trying to fix it with chemicals. The dopamine is there, but the flow is interrupted. Adrenaline has taken over, which ultimately leads to dopamine taking a back seat. Just like anything else, after years of operating in adrenaline mode, the dopamine just turns off the faucet.”

Five years ago, we received the wonderful news that this theory had been proven scientifically. It is from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark.

In the section of the article entitled “A thorn in the side” the author points out that not only was there no lack of dopamine, but that the theory of “lack of dopamine” has not been established:

A thorn in the side
Scanning the brain of a patient suffering from Parkinson’s disease reveals that in spite of dopamine cell death, there are no signs of a lack of dopamine — even at a comparatively late stage in the process.
‘The inability to establish a lack of dopamine until advanced cases of Parkinson’s disease has been a thorn in the side of researchers for many years. On the one hand, the symptoms indicate that the stop signal is over-activated, and patients are treated accordingly with a fair degree of success. On the other hand, data prove that they are not lacking dopamine,’ says Postdoc Jakob Kisbye Dreyer.”

A few things I would like to mention at this point.

  1. This report comes as no surprise as I, and so many of you, are living proof that our dopamine is not depleted. However, it is very exciting that there is now is scientific proof that we have been correct all along.
  2. If you are taking medications, please keep taking them. If you stop taking them cold turkey, nothing good will come from that. Click here to read more.
  3. To enhance the hope and faith of people with Parkinson’s around the world, I ask that you please send a link to this blog post to everybody who you know and encourage them to send it to others. It is important that people who are filled with fear that their dopamine is depleted and their prognosis is hopeless see this blog post and article. The reason I ask that you send a link to this post instead of just the article is that if people read the article only, it gives them hope but it does not tell them what they can do to recover. If you provide a link to this post, then they will come to the blog and site, see the Recipe, see this wonderful community made up of all of you, and they will realize that a road map to their recovery and other travelers on the path to recovery already exist and have existed for years. Imagine how that will enhance their faith and hope.

Over the years, I have been asked many times regarding my theory of Parkinson’s and the Recipe, “Where’s the science?” My friends, the science could not be talking any louder than a 5-year-old scientific study proving our theory of Parkinson’s to be correct.

I hope you are inspired. I hope you are uplifted. I hope you grab onto a new-found faith with firm resolve and chant with me as a group:

“I have my dopamine. Parkinson’s is curable. I am my Parkinson’s cure. I am bringing my life back into balance physically, mentally, and spiritually, and I am looking forward to being cured from Parkinson’s. And…I AM WORTH IT!”

Yes you are. You are worth it!!!

All my best,

Howard

Being a lead IT person supporting critical database platforms for much of my career has been a lot like playing hot potato – except that I’m the only only one in the game, and the potato never leaves my hands! If anything goes wrong, everyone will be looking to me, and I’m already feeling rather toasted…

So I can relate well to Howard’s description of an over adrenalined existence. God willing, I retire next June. Meanwhile there’s trusting in God and looking for ways to work without worry. Maybe even find some joy in being the sucker who ‘gets’ to do this stuff.

Thanks to Howard and the entire blog team for providing the support and tools to get through this.

In contemplating my blog post above, I find:

Performing all those worldly tasks and chores that often cause us so much stress is not our real job at all. They just provide the context for our real job which is to help one another and make each other laugh and smile.

This real job is no chore, but is fullfilling and satisfying. It’s a job that our dear friend Howard has figured out how to do pretty near all the time – God bless him…

And God bless all my dear friends on the blog: may you be filled with joy and giggles.

      PS:

Preachy sub notes to myself –

      1) So do my earthly chores as best I can and forget about them. It’s that real job that counts.
      2) ‘One another’ transcends mere people to include all the life of the universe.

Chris I really enjoyed your post. It made me smile. I love the way You tell it as it is about your job in IT. Then spiritual Chris takes over and sounds so peaceful and grounded and then finish it off with deep words of wisdom. 🙂 Here’s to next June when you hang up the computer ha ha. In the meantime just think of it as a means to fatten up the retirement fund. And you will get to start your real job with love and with ease and with joy, without interruption. Thanks again for the smile. Big love, Karen xx

    Hi All,
Howard this is exactly what I needed to know to further strengthen my belief that “I WILL BE HEALED”.
A short tale to add: A short while back I awakened during the night as my shoulder was aching. I was frustrated by the pain and soon other thoughts were buzzing around and the tremors worsened!! I became agitated which added fuel to the fire until I was totally upset. Suddenly these words came in my head, not my own thought or voice, “Patience, I am healing you.” I was humbled and apologized to the night, and I was able to sleep. I am certain that together we all can beat this.
Thank you Howard for all your help!!!!
    Larry

Larry thanks for sharing your story. I love that you knew it was God’s voice. It gave me goosebumps. I have a picture of Jesus and I keep it on the pillow beside me at night. Before I go to sleep and have a chat with him. One night I was trying to remember a word from an Affirmation I had learned. It was driving me mad that I could not remember the last word. So I looked at him and said “oh go on just tell me”. Instantly the word came into my head. I burst out laughing but still was not sure if it was the right word. I was so excited I jumped out of the bed, and usually I crawl out of it. I made it without effort to the corner of my bedroom where I meditate and found piece of paper where I had written the affirmation and he was right! 🙂 Incase your curious the affirmation was “I use my energy to heal and transform”.
Thanks again for your share. I so love gifts from God like that.
      Big love Karen xx

I had an epiphany recently that I’ve been given the gift of Parkinson’s In mid life so that I can be the happiest person in the last 40 years of my life. This blog gives me perspective and affirms the journey that I’m on… to experience the joy of life and every moment let go of fear that has kept me down for most of my life.

    thanks Howard

Howard, such a great reminder! I needed to hear this! Living in adrenaline mode for 30 years has definitely taken it’s toll but I don’t believe for one minute that the dopamine is gone! Thank you so much for your consistent encouragement!

  9. Sadhana says:

Thanks Howard sir for your research n strengthening my belief that dopamine is not lost but it is not flowing properly in our bodies. To make dopamine flow we have to remove the blockages that the recipe will take care of very well, but to make dopamine in our bodies we have to feel happy every minute. That is possible only with mind n soul recipe. SADHGURU has suggested a very simple exercise for feeling happy every time…(Smile for 20 seconds each hour with out any reason). It will keep you happy all the day.

Hi…..I am a new comer to this site & I have to say I LOVE IT! Gives me HOPE!! I to believe that my dopamine is not depleted. I am going to start doing the “recipe for recovery”! Thank you, Howard!
