Fighting Parkinson’s, and inspiration for the kick-off of my 30-day challenge 2019

IT IS HERE!!! Today is the kick-off of my 30-day November to Remember, No Excuses November, Challenge 2019! Click here to review the challenge. I am so excited about how many of you I have heard from who are making a commitment to yourselves to do the scaled-down version of the Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery® for the 30 days of November. Congratulations to all of you on giving yourselves the gift of working on your Parkinson’s recovery. To kick-off the challenge, here is some inspiration.

In my previous post announcing the 30-day challenge, I encouraged those of you already doing the Recipe to share how you were doing to inspire the new people. Veterans to the Recipe and some new people taking on the challenge posted comments to that blog post. I share them with you here for inspiration to kick-off the challenge.

Paul says:

This is sooooooooooooo great it is beyond words but I will try to say a few things that may help others.
I have recently recommitted to doing every day the recipe and in 1 week I now am awakening at anywhere between 3-5 am with so much energy which was not the case before. I have a new spring in my step, one filled with hope.
I truly believe that this path is like finding an oasis in the desert, such a gift.
ty so much for everything Howard but most of all your continued support and care.

Howard – Thank you so much YOU are amazing!!!! Your love, care and commitment fills me with so much gratitude, I can feel the dopamine flow!!!
I am in and take the challenge. How could I pass on doing it?
Since I have been doing the Recipe since February and have experienced great progress I am very encouraged. For the challenge, I plan on practicing deep breathing, calming the mind, joy and gratitude. I also want to be more mindful while doing the physical part of the recipe!
Good luck fellow warriors your energy is contagious – we got this!
WE ARE WORTH IT!!!!

I’m in!

I’ve been slacking recently as I have been energized by renovating my 130-year-old house, and when I wake up in the morning I want to get through my very long list. 🙂

I’ve had an awesome experience recently at the thrift store that I volunteer at. A man came in with the tremor the other day and I walked up to him and said, “I have one of those too” and smiled. He is about 20+ years older and just started his journey with P. I could tell he was going through a difficult fear stage that I went through myself.

Compassion started to flow, my spirits lifted, and I told him about Howard’s book. It was awesome to be able to uplift a complete stranger.

My symptoms are elevated my typing is getting easier. This is a very rich life experience.

Count me in Howard!

I’m one of the “currently doing the Recipe” warriors; I have faith in and gratitude for Howard’s Recipe. It is a journey that began with letting go of the anger, fear and “why me??” that came with my PD diagnosis. Not easy! but possible with a little help from Howard, his Recipe and friends. Surrender.

And then, the best part begins – let in the joy, compassion and gratitude and once it starts it just grows. I plant a smile on my face and giggle once in a while when I’m doing the physical part of the Recipe and I find that pretty soon I’m feeling really good about myself and my life – and I am thankful that I ‘get to’ experience this 2nd awakening…that I get to meditate…that I get to rediscover the wonders of this life…

So, thank you again Howard, for this challenge. I’m going to add an extra 10 minutes of Medical Qigong for Liver (my favorite exercise put to music), and I’ll forge ahead with faith in my recovery from Parkinson’s.

Those in doubt, accept the challenge. It’s your life and your journey and with these tools you can’t go wrong.

The best to you all 🙂

Anne says:

Dear Howard and fellow brave ones, What a great opportunity to up my game publicly to all of you. I will add to the recipe saying “I love you” in the mirror. I have done it sporadically and always find myself crying and then being able for a moment to feel love for the dear person I am. Looking forward to more of that.
Love to all of us, Anne, Portland, Oregon USA

Thank you for the challenge Howard. I am definitely in for this. Just a minor interruption for partial knee replacement surgery on the 22nd. I think the recipe will be beneficial in the recovery process.

Nov.30 last year was a real challenge. That day I had my first appointment with my doctor who told me right away I have PD. I denied it of course…Nov.30 this year I will be celebrating all together with you and the Recipe. I have a new life. I have a happy life!

For further inspiration, Click Here to see the picture gallery. These are the New Faces of Parkinson’s!

You are not your Parkinson’s symptoms…you are something more than symptoms…you are the loving, beautiful, caring, grateful essence of who you are. The symptoms may go up and down, but you remain strong, solid, and ready to cure yourself from Parkinson’s. Some of the people who posted these comments are just a bit ahead of you on this path toward recovery, and some of them are just like you getting started right now. They are committed to curing themselves from Parkinson’s!

Now it is your turn. Jump in with both feet! Accept the challenge…make the commitment to yourself…grab onto the scaled-down version of the Recipe…make this your November to Remember for your Parkinson’s recovery. And, if you have been doing the Recipe already, re-commit yourself, challenge yourself…make this your November to Remember for your Parkinson’s recovery.

One more bit of inspiration:

Some people may say that it is impossible to recover from Parkinson’s. To them, let’s say:

“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’!” Audrey Hepburn

“I have the power to heal myself.” And I did.
“You have the power to heal yourself.” Marie did. Pratima did. Betty did. Helen did. Tony did. And you are.
“Together we have the power to heal the world.” Every time another person starts down this path to recovery, together we are growing in numbers and we do have the power to heal the world from Parkinson’s.

Make the commitment to yourself for recovery!

Okay, everybody, put big smiles on your faces and chant together so the whole world can hear us kick off the best November to Remember ever:

“Parkinson’s is curable.
I am my own Parkinson’s cure.
I am halting, slowing, and reversing the progression of my Parkinson’s.
I am extraordinary.
I am recovery.
I am doing great!
I’m possible!

AND, I AM WORTH IT!!!”

All my best,

Howard

Respected Howard sir, I am in for November challenge. I have been taking the recipe since February. On a roller coaster ride with PD, your weekly blogs help me a lot, especially when I am on the down side. I found so many fellow friends, sailing in same boat on the blog. Thanks Howard sir for introducing the November challenge…regards, Mona.

  3. Bailey says:

Howard bushwhacked a true path to recovery for himself and now shares it with the world at no charge. I have benefited from his counsel and following his recipe in so many ways. Some of my symptoms have improved or disappeared, but of most value to me is the opening of my heart and reconnecting with my spirit. I know this path is the way to recovery and I am truly grateful to Howard, his guidance and generous spirit.

So, here goes: I’m gonna up my game and join you newbies and warriors! Love to you all!

I’m excited to be in the challenge!! I am fairly new at doing the Recipe, just started on the 3rd of Sept., so 2 months in. I started out slow by learning the Recipe a little at a time. I still read and reread parts of the book and the many blogs. They are so helpful and I really appreciate all the effort that you Howard have put into them. Thanks for this opportunity to join in the challenge of our lives. I have been doing the whole Recipe for at least 2 weeks now, and plan on upping my game by doing even more. Thanks again Howard.
    WE ARE ALL WORTH IT!!!!

I am new to all this! I only subscribed three weeks ago, after reading Howard’s book and on 20 April 2020, have today begun the 30 day challenge. I’ve just listened to the meditation. Thank you so much for Howard’s inspirational help and to Alex and Jan. I’m also in lockdown UK. If there’s ever contact between community members I’d love to be in touch. I’ve felt so alone on my journey before I found Fighting Parkinson’s Drug Free. Thank you.
    With love, Sue
