It has been an interesting week of technology surprises. As a result, I felt it was a good opportunity to share what has happened and to apply our acceptance, surrender, gratitude principles.
A couple of days ago some of you emailed me that the menu slider on the mobile version of my website was not working. Surprise.
I looked at the mobile version of my website on my phone and clicked the three dashes at the top left of the screen, and the menu slider did not open and show the menu. Surprise.
I logged into the mobile version of my website, and the menu slider option no longer existed. Surprise. (A couple of days earlier, the mobile version company had updated their software).
I installed a different theme (the way the mobile version appears on your screen) to see if I could configure it to allow access to the menu. The menu slider did not work on that theme either. Surprise.
I found a theme called “Simple.” Surprise.
I installed “Simple” and “Simple’s” home screen is the menu screen to the mobile version of my website. However, if you are on a page and need to get to the menu, you do not click the drop-down arrow, but instead, you click “Fighting Parkinson’s Dr…” at the top of your screen. Surprise.
If you are reading this blog post on an iPhone or Smart Phone, it looks different than ever it has looked before. Surprise.
If you reading this blog post on an iPad or tablet and never have viewed my website on a computer or laptop, you probably are looking at this blog post on the desktop version of my website because “Simple” does not support iPad or tablet viewing. Surprise.
If you are reading this blog post on a computer or laptop, nothing has changed for you. No Surprise. (Hope you do not feel left out).
At some point, all of this may change again because the world and technology are constantly changing, as are we. No Surprise.
Okay, here we go:
Acceptance. I accept that these things happen, and I accept that I have no control over them.
Surrender. God does not owe me an explanation why this happened.
Gratitude. I am grateful for my life, so I am grateful for what arrives in my life.
Opportunity. Thank you, God, for the opportunity to say “okay” many times over the last few days as I have navigated through technology issues and reached the best possible solution I could find under the circumstances.
Life is full of surprises. Surprises present opportunities. Opportunities present solutions.
You received a diagnosis of Parkinson’s. Surprise.
That surprise presented you an opportunity to bring your life back into balance.
That opportunity presented you the solution of doing the Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery® and being on your journey toward full recovery from Parkinson’s.
You are worth it!!!
All my best,
