Fighting Parkinson’s, and your strong faith!

The words “You have Parkinson’s” evoke fear is almost everybody who hears those words. In large part, this is because what follows those words is a blur of words like “incurable,” “progressively degenerative,” “neurological disease,” “don’t know what causes it,” and “our treatment will not slow, halt or reverse the disease.” Emotional stress, hopelessness, despair…those are the feelings on the way home from the neurologist’s office…and fear…all of those feelings are driven by fear. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THAT WAY. FAITH IS A CHOICE. CHOOSE FAITH, AND CHOOSE TO BE YOUR OWN CURE!!!

“You have Parkinson’s Disease.” (Now, let’s change it up a bit). Suppose your neurologist followed those words with this, “Parkinson’s is a symptom of your life out of balance, and you can repair the imbalances and be cured! There is a protocol called the Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery®, and if you do it every day, you will be cured!”

Do you now have hope? Do you now have faith? Do you now work on your cure? And what if your neurologist added this, “Oh, yes, I need to let you know that along the way toward your cure, there will be times when it will appear that you are getting worse because your symptoms will be appearing worse, but please do not worry, it is part of the recovery process, and you have nothing to fear. Have faith, and you will be cured.” Do you choose fear when you face what appears to be a worsening condition, or do you have faith in your cure?

The reason I give you this example is to show you that the fear you have in your mind about what is going on with your Parkinson’s is a self-created fear…it is the FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real) that I have spoken about in the past. In the paragraphs above, all I have done is taken what I have been telling you for the last 10 and 1/2 years since my cure and hypothetically put those words in your neurologist’s mouth. Suddenly, you have no fear. Why? Because you chose to have no fear.

Currently, you are doing the Recipe, but instead of listening when I explain in great detail why you need not have fear when symptoms appear worse, https://www.fightingparkinsonsdrugfree.com/2012/08/14/fighting-parkinsons-and-more-on-cleaning-the-pool/, you look to the gloom and doom you received at the neurologist’s office and choose to have fear. Yes, choose to have fear. If you are doing the Recipe every day, then you are curing yourself every day no matter what your symptoms look like and you need not be afraid.

If you are choosing fear each time a symptom appears worse, then you are still engaged in the type of Adrenaline-Mode-fear-based-mind-chatter that helped you get Parkinson’s symptoms to the surface in the first place. Living in this fear prevents recovery. Realize that fear is a creation of your mind, and you are choosing fear.

Fear is the only Parkinson’s symptom that is a choice. That is why I talk about it so much. It is a choice in how you decide to look at your Parkinson’s, your symptoms, and your life. It is so powerful of a symptom of this disease, that in the midst of improving from a disease the experts say there is no chance of improvement, one bad day, one extra pain, one extra stiffness, one increase in tremors…one unfavorable change in any symptom causes people to stop their improvement dead in its tracks and say, “I guess I am getting worse just like the doctors said I would.”

That interpretation is a choice, and the choice is fear. And it leads to FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real). And that leads you down the path that causes your own fears and FEARs to come true.

IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THAT WAY. MAKE A DIFFERENT CHOICE……….

CHOOSE FAITH!

How about if you choose to interpret the events like this: “I trust myself in knowing what I am doing is the correct thing. I trust myself that I correctly have interpreted all of my improvements. I am willing to surrender control of having to fully understand every nuance or every energetic change taking place inside my body, and I am empowering myself to look at everything I am doing as long-term progress in my being cured from Parkinson’s without being fearful of the day-to-day changes that I do not fully understand. I have faith, and my faith defeats my fear.”

That interpretation is a choice, and the choice is faith. Faith leads to staying with the Recipe on your path toward your cure. Faith leads you down the path that causes your cure to come true.

Choose faith over fear and visualize your future cure.

Say this affirmation with me: “Parkinson’s is a symptom of my life out of balance, and I can repair the imbalances and be cured. I refuse to allow appearances in my physical symptoms to make me fearful. Fear is a choice. Faith is a choice. I am choosing Faith. I will be cured. I am worth it!”

You are worth it!!!

All my best,

Howard

Such a great reminder! I couldn’t agree more! I don’t even claim the diagnosis of Parkinson’s. I tell people I am experiencing a total body burn out and it is in the process of healing. Parkinson’s is just a name they give you so they can prescribe you medication. No thanks!

  2. Kate says:

These words of wisdom will really help us to have faith. Because the key to being cured is repairing the imbalances. Thanks Howard!

I have recently been diagnosed and withought thought based on fear for the last 3 months been on PD C/L drugs and now regretting it. Is it too late to follow your method? Living in hope.

    • Howard says:

      Hi Raymond.

Many people are on medications. So, many people doing my Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery are on medications when they begin doing the Recipe. In fact, two of the people who have cured themselves doing the Recipe were on medications when they started the Recipe.

Welcome to the blog. We are happy to have you here.

      Blessings,
      Howard

      Greetings, Raymond.

Yeah, just relax and breath easy. Leave your worries at the door, and if you forget and bring them in sometime, just leave them at the door next time; nobody’s counting…

      You’ll like Howard.

      Warmest greetings and salutations,

      Chris

Hi Howard and fellow warriors. Powerful post coach. I am exercising my choice muscle and choose Faith every time. One of the many challenges I find with being on the drugs is trying to decifer what is progress and what is the side effects of the drugs which can happen over time. My faith will get me there in the end but this disease is not for the faint hearted 😊 What’s that saying “a warrior never gives up” keep the faith guys, you never know how close you are now until you get there .
    Big Love

Thank you Howard. This helps me right when and where I need it. Since last week’s kindness blog I’m recognizing that I’m much more of a perfectionist than I ever thought. Whenever I’ve been in the presence of perfectionists, their attempts to control situations are obvious I’ve rejected these outward attempts to control. I was all about remaining calm and accepting the external circumstances. Ah but the truth is when I make a mistake on something important to me however minor, my fear kicks in and I become symptomatic. What’s going on? I used to be able to outwardly control it and maintain my calm. Not any more. Thank you Parkinson’s!

These inner fears would drive me to “perfect” myself and avoid “mistakes” in the future so I could keep my calm in any situation. But wait – perfect is the enemy of the good. And I am good just as I am – even with the mistakes! I certainly forgive others for being human. I must forgive myself now and the parental programming that wired me this way! I have faith in the process and faith in myself. I choose healing and self-acceptance and restoration and recovery. I’m worth it!

    Thank you again.

I try to use fear and other negative emotions as cues to return to a more confident, relaxed and faith-filled attitude in the here and now. And not just faith in the marvelous tools in the recipe, but faith that the whole recovery experience is leading to a fuller understanding of myself and the universe.

The thought of this makes me smile.

I saw my neurologist today for my 6 month checkup. We reminisced about the 18 years he has been my Parkinson’s doctor. At the finale of the exam he said “you are looking better than the last time I saw you”. I told him I have been doing QIGONG, have eliminated one medication and only take half the amount on two others. I left the office elated. From the time I was diagnosed, I have stated I am recovering from Parkinson’s. I didn’t know how but my Faith never gave up. Then last year I happened upon your book Howard. It power jumped my faith. I knew from reading it that I had found the way to recovery. Yes, faith is essential.
    Thank you for the reminder.

Hi all, this is my first post, glad I found this blog. I was diagnosed two years ago, started on medication for a year before I decided to stop. I have been doing the recipe for a few months. Thanks for the encouragement. I choose Faith and I am worth it.
