Fighting Parkinson’s, and you are not getting worse

When people have an injury, get surgery, get a different illness (COVID, flu, other virus), etc., their symptoms get worse. If you find yourself in one of these situations…YOU ARE NOT GETTING WORSE IN THE PARKINSON’S!

Recently, this subject has arisen. Primarily, it has been in the context of COVID and other viruses. Now that many lock-downs have been lifted, people have been traveling for work or going to conferences, and they have gotten COVID or another virus. Then they are finding themselves with increased symptoms.

This is normal. If this has happened to you, your symptoms are increasing because there is not enough energy to go around, and the new issue, COVID or the other virus, is taking precedence in the body’s defenses against disease. YOU ARE NOT GETTING WORSE IN THE PARKINSON’S!

It is a simple formula of energy. If there is not enough energy to go around, then the body is going to prioritize the energy:
Healing from new injury: Top Priority over Parkinson’s.
Healing from surgery: Top Priority over Parkinson’s.
Body fighting and healing from COVID or other illness or virus: Top Priority over Parkinson’s.
End result: You will heal from the injury, the surgery, and from COVID or other illness or virus, and then your symptoms will return to their original state. It is even possible for your symptoms to be better than they were because your body has to do a lot of healing to heal itself from the other issues.

However, people’s fear and FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real) have arrived. People have become afraid that they are getting worse. Fear is a thought. Here is a reminder:

In the movie After Earth, Will Smith’s son, actual son Jaden in real life, asks Will Smith what happened the day he learned to let go of fear. Here is what he tells Jaden about fear:

“Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity. Do not misunderstand me, danger is very real, but fear is a choice. We are all telling ourselves a story and that day mine changed.”

It is time to change your thought as well:
You are doing the Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery®.
You are healing from Parkinson’s.
You got an injury, had surgery, or got a different illness and your symptoms increased.
YOU ARE NOT GETTING WORSE IN THE PARKINSON’S!

Here is some additional assistance for changing your thought:

Every time you see an increased symptom and your fear is that you are getting worse, since fear is nothing more than a thought, change your thought to faith and recovery:
This is the COVID, it is not the Parkinson’s getting worse.
This is the flu or virus, it is not the Parkinson’s getting worse.
This is the injury, it is not the Parkinson’s getting worse.
This is the surgery, it is not the Parkinson’s getting worse.

Turn your fear into faith in yourself and your recovery with a positive thought, and truthful thought, that it is the new issue causing your symptoms to get worse, and that it is not the Parkinson’s getting worse.

YOU ARE NOT GETTING WORSE IN THE PARKINSON’S!

Faith or fear. It is a choice. What are you choosing?

You are worth it!!!

All my best,

Howard

I truly wish I would have met Howard before my husband contracted Covid 19 and was hospitalized. Before we got to the hospital I had no idea he had COVID-19 and basically he could do nothing on his own. One day he was fine and the next day he wasn’t. Fortunately he made a recovery pretty quickly but it was a very scary experience for him and our whole family.

    Another perfect post.

    Thanks brother.

Unbelievably pertinent. Earlier today, before Howard posted this blog, I was reminding myself what he said a few weeks ago about how our wellbeing can be undermined by extreme temperatures and that heightened Parkinson’s symptoms aren’t necessarily caused by Parkinson’s.

I like the idea that if my body is working hard on healing itself from an illness or injury NOT related to Parkinson’s, my Parkinson’s symptoms might even improve as a by-product. Ultimately, I believe in the power of the Recipe, so I’m choosing faith and trying to take everything as it comes, with a few curses, obviously. 🤣
Thanks for your staunch support, Howard.

Yes, I got shingles, and then I got Covid. It knocked me right off my feet. I could barely crawl out of the lake house where my family gathered to inadvertently spread Covid amongst ourselves. It was scary but I’m getting better now! Heads up, the Covid fatigue can last longer than Covid by many weeks so don’t be discouraed. It’s great getting better! Love and blessings to you all. Chris

I’m living proof that I went “haywire” after knee replacement surgery. It took a little while but I found myself in a better place with the Parkinson’s after surgery. Doing the recipe and physical therapy had a very positive impact.

Wonderful comment, dear Howard, if we all could think in your manner then
Parkinson would have disappeared from all of us!!!

Thank you for your post this week Howard about Parkinson’s symptoms possibly getting worse when something else is going on in the body. I can speak as an example of what you’re talking about since I recently had knee surgery about four weeks ago. After the surgery my Parkinson’s tremor symptom got worse but now after four weeks since the surgery it is basically returned to the pre-surgery level, for which I am very grateful. Thanks again for continuing to lead the good fight against all of the misunderstanding and false testimony about this disease. I firmly believe it is indeed curable as you have yourself demonstrated and reminded us so many times! Thank you! Gary E

Thank you so much for your reminder, your patience, your compassion and your always being there for me, for us!! Gratefully always, Christine

Thank you for another great write up on Parkinson’s symptoms with other different illness. This is because we are generally healthy person with Parkinson’s. However, when we have an illness the body responses to cure the illness first, therefore returning the body to its healthy state, before acting on the recovery of Parkinson’s.

I like the analogy with an energy crisis. There is only so much energy to go round until we clear out the obstruction/poison/interference, whatever it is. Here in South Africa we have load shedding and everyone has to be patient and cooperate. I had setbacks from virus’s but I also saw the advantage I had from having taken care of my health in a cooperative way.

Thank you Howard and fellow warriors. Using Howard’s great logic and advice I have recently been having some great days. We are currently experiencing record breaking temperatures in western Europe so tremors are increased as my body reacts to the changes in energy. Don’t forget to stay hydrated and look after your pets. These symptoms are necessary for recovery and will pass. Believe in Howard and his recipe. I can see paradise on the horizon. We can do it. XX
