Fighting Parkinson’s, and permission to celebrate signs of improvement

When I had Parkinson’s, I celebrated signs of improvement and called them little gold nuggets from God to put in my pocket. Then, on a rougher physical day, I could reach into my pocket, “feel” the gold nuggets, and say, “Yes, that sign of improvement really happened.”

My neurologist had explained to me when I told him I was going to get better that I had a misunderstanding of Parkinson’s. He said that with Parkinson’s, the patient only gets worse, so being the same, i.e. not getting worse, was the only “getting better” with Parkinson’s.

Fortunately, he changed his tune when he twice found me no longer having the sign and symptoms of Parkinson’s.

On Tuesday afternoon on a coaching call, a woman explained to me a couple of signs of improvement she had experienced in the last week, and we had the above-reiterated gold nugget conversation. On Wednesday, she wrote me an email and she has given me permission to share the content with you:

“I have  been thinking since our zoom mtg yesterday….

I know you  have written about this subject before….but it might be worth repeating for your viewers.

It’s what we talked about – noticing any little sign of improvement – like my leg not freezing as much….or being able to turn in the shower better….or being able to get out of the chair easier….or walking a little steadier and not so shuffled and longer stride….or neck and back not as stiff and painful….or having a little more strength….or able to put my shorts on standing up while holding on….or going up the steps foot over foot while holding onto banister….etc, etc.    These have been my improvements this past week.

We talked about different improvements at different times as a sign that the energy was moving around – healing in different places at different times. We agreed we should hold onto these as God’s nuggets of hope….”

Well everybody, these are the words of one of your fellow warriors on her journey to recovery. Great job! These are powerful words and wonderful signs of improvement. My opinion is that even the smallest signs of improvement are HUGE, especially since there is not supposed to be any improvement at all.

I hope that all of you are as inspired as I was when I read this email and then read it to Sally. I hope it provides you additional inspiration to find your signs of improvement no matter how small they may be.

Be inspired, and give yourself permission to celebrate any signs of improvement:

“I am allowed to celebrate even the smallest signs of improvement.”

Please post a comment below by copying and pasting these words:

My brain cells are alive. My dopamine reservoir is full. I am doing the Recipe, and my recovery from Parkinson’s is happening. I am allowed to celebrate even the smallest signs of improvement. I am extraordinary. I am recovery. I AM WINNING! AND, I AM WORTH IT!!!

(If you wish to copy and paste these affirmations and then include any signs of improvement that you now have given yourself permission to celebrate, please do so, and we will be joyful to read about them and celebrate with you).

Each and every one of you is winning and you are worth it!!

All my best,

Howard

Just thinking about the golden nuggets I’ve experienced over the last couple of weeks makes me very happy and increases my faith. I’ve experienced longer “on time” with my medicine, at first it was a day or two, now this week it was most of the week. I’m able to get up from the couch and armchair much easier. Dressing is easier and faster, I’m walking better and BIG nugget I shot straight up out of bed yesterday!!!
Psychologically I feel calmer, happier and more at peace. Recently I’ve placed a renewed emphasis on giving everything to God and I can’t help but wonder if that’s the reason for the physical and psychological changes.
Wishing everyone lots more golden nuggets, love, peace, joy and continued healing.

My outlook has improved and anxiety has lessened although I still have a long way to go! His neck exercises have greatly improved the painful knots and circulation. Rubbing my temples and ears helped with eye twitching and tinnitus. Sleeping better, less constipation, appetite getting better. Nausea is much better. Brain vibrations help me to feel more centered. Everyday is a roller coaster of symptoms but I am making progress slowly but surely and having hope again. Thank God🙏❤️
