Fighting Parkinson’s, and let’s create even more conflict

Okay! Are you ready to create even more conflict? Of course you are! After a week of telling the mind, “No, you are wrong. I am getting better!!!” it is time to step it up to a higher level and create even more conflict with the illusory mind.

The illusory mind

That’s right, the illusory mind. When you are doing the soul, mind, and body recovery practices of the Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery®, you are getting better, always getting better. Additionally, when the mind tells you otherwise by increasing symptoms, that is just an illusion of the mind. Moreover, it is why relentlessly telling the mind “No, you are wrong. I am getting better!!!” is a truthful critical component as you move forward in your recovery.

However, the mind knows you well and it will seek to wear you down. Also, after one week, it will take on a new tactic to frighten you. Some people have reported to me seeing symptoms at levels they have not seen before and seeing depressed feelings at levels that they have not seen before as a result of creating conflict with their minds. Through meditation, prayer, and “No, you are wrong. I am getting better!!!” they have prevailed.

Okay! Let’s step this up and stay one leap ahead of the illusory minds that plague the beautiful-and-radiant-soul people with Parkinson’s.

Staying ahead of the illusory mind

First, it requires repeating an important point: What makes this process work is knowing that when you are doing the soul, mind, and body recovery practices of the Parkinson’s Recipe for Recovery®, you are getting better, always getting better.

Step 1. Anything that you physically are doing, tell yourself, “This is a sign of me getting better.”

Step 2. Your soul is untouched by Parkinson’s. In your soul, you are already better. Moreover, just as the mind is trying to increase symptoms to defeat the relentless “No, you are wrong. I am getting better!!!” that you have been telling the mind, you are going to turbo charge your resolve with “No, you are wrong. I am already better!!!” The mind will not know what to do, and the body will rejoice.

Step 3. Additionally, if you are taking anything for the Parkinson’s, here is an extra turbo charge for you. When you do not like something going on physically, tell the mind, “No you are wrong. This is the side effects and off-time withdrawal symptoms!!!” Also, be relentless.

Staying the present moment

The illusory mind only exists in the past with memory and in the future with imagination. Therefore, staying in the present moment defeats the illusory mind. The illusory mind simply does not exist in the present moment.

Also, we have discussed from After Earth, “Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist.”

Stay in the present moment. Additionally, when you are physically moving, that movement is in the present moment: “This is a sign of me getting better.” If a symptom increases, that symptom increase is in the present moment, so keep it in the present moment by telling the mind the truth:

“No, you are wrong. I am already better!!!” and “No you are wrong. This is the side effects and withdrawal symptoms!!!”

Finally, what is absent from these statements? Fear. Since “the only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future,” if you stay in the present moment in faith, fear is vapor, the mind is an illusion, and you live fearlessly.

How’s that for creating even more conflict!

In the comments below, let us know how you are doing with telling the mind, “No, you are wrong. I am already better!!!” and “No you are wrong. This is the side effects and withdrawal symptoms!!!”

You are worth it!!!

All my best,

Howard

Thank you Howard. I have been telling myself when I get advanced symptoms that logic tells me pd doesn’t progress that quickly. Common sense must mean Howard is right and that it is pd trying too hard, so I don’t believe it. Love to you all.

  2. Gary W says:

No, you are wrong. I am already feeling better. No, the side effects are a sign that I am getting better and they’re just simply withdrawal symptoms. I am getting better. I am better and I will endeavor to say it over and over again to help my mind, believe it and overcome fear. Thanks 🙏 Howard

  10. Laura V says:

Saying, ‘I’m already healed’ is like telling the mind that I can handle anything, and I’m learning through this experience that I really can, and indeed I do, by God’s grace.

I’m practicing the recipe every day, my body temple is filled with God’s light and soon the trifling symptoms will be a distant memory, then: walking a delight, hand dexterity easy, balancing so simple, interacting at work happily via sitting, talking, writing…!

Thank you very much Howard and best wishes all : )

  11. Anett says:

I’m feeling better today, really good.
I told my mind that my heart and soul can feel it deeply.
That’s the truth, and it should take a good look at it.
Soul and heart, heart and soul – they shine and radiate,
and my mind can’t overlook that.
It’s exactly as you say, dear Howard.
Today, I feel so calm and relaxed.
Thank you so much for the insight.
I’m now in the 9th month too :)

  12. Tim A. says:

I went to a Samhain witchy bazaar tonight! It was so much fun!
Living in the moment is so much fun!
Spontaneity is a gift from my PD recovery.
    There are so many gifts!
My life is better now than it ever was.
I matter more to the world and the world matters more to me.
    I seek out love.
    I have 0 fear.
I stay on the path of recovery because life is so much more rewarding.

    Who’s with me?

    Tim A

  13. Yvonne says:

I think Howard wrote this blog post just for me.

My faith is deep, but I was struggling with the mind. I’ve been saying 100 times a day, “No, you’re wrong! I’m already better!” and the mind kept coming at me. It’s as relentless as I am. Increased symptoms and a despirited funk set in for a good couple of weeks. I increased my meditations, affirmations, prayers and I was holding steady, no big improvement, but holding steady and grateful for it. Reading all of your comments has helped my overall improved disposition. Then I had my coaching meeting with Howard yesterday and that really gave me a boost, as always. Shortly after we hung up, I got what Howard talks about— that familiar surge blossoming inside filled with happiness and joy and gratitude, and compassion and love, reassuring me that PD is temporary and recovery is real! I turned the corner.

I found this quote the other day and have been reading it every day since. I thought I’d share it with you all because you would appreciate it and maybe it’ll help someone who’s on the other side of struggle like I was.
“The law of invisible progress: you will see the reward for today’s efforts in a season you have not reached. Beneath the surface your actions are stacking up quietly, relentlessly, invisibly. Most people quit in this phase because they mistake lack of visible results for lack of progress. The ones who win are the ones who understand this law and keep showing up long enough for the invisible to become undeniable.” Jude Fredman.

  14. Constantinos says:

Laura V, I agree with God’s grace, and Tim A., we are on the path to recovery with Howard’s beautiful guidance!

It was yesterday morning. I woke up and went to the bathroom and saw myself in mirror with high eyebrows being afraid not to break something and wake everybody up! When I saw myself in mirror I felt like I was a student feeling scared not to cause a mess in front of all. I smile at myself. Mirror replied with a big smile!! Thank you dear friend Howard for doubting our mind’s exaggerated continous and annoying comments!

  15. Svetla says:

I have no fear, and I know that I’m getting better enjoying the moment! I know that
I’m able to cure myself! I’m worth it and all of you are worth it! Thank you, Howard!

  16. Ramesh says:

I am 50 years male improving on all non-motor symptoms steadily despite not on medication since I was diagnosed in OCT 2024. Very nasty sleep issue, anxiety, cramps, midnight bathroom calls, indigestion all almost gone. And palm and feet palm burning/pin insertion like pain (peripheral neuropathy ) subsided hugely to the point that even I don’t notice some times.

Doing recipe since Feb 2025, Howard coaching, Chinese traditional healing treatments like acupressure/acupuncture , Did Ayurvedic panchkarma once and daily, YOGA/pranayama and fast mountain climbing alternate day. The motor symptoms like rigidity, slowness and fine motor control in left hand seems improved a bit but still very much there and not a huge improvement. Despite these improvements my faith starts to dwindle some times and I return to these posts and fellow warriors posts. I read them, re-read them to reinforce belief, and trust in alternative therapies rather than mainstream western medication. Fight is on!

  17. Bruce L says:

Doing my best (and my best is good enough) to live in the moment and not the past or the future. I remind my self that symptoms are just changing energy while abilities reflect how I am healing.
My soul is symptom free and my full recovery is in me, I just need to let it rise up.
I am my own recovery and I am worth it!

  18. Alice says:

I am telling myself, “I am already better!”. I can feel and hear the illusory mind wanting to argue with me, but I’m able to turn it off much more forcefully than I have in the past. I am inspired by all of the posts and grateful for the reminders and the support. I’m looking forward to my full Parkinson’s recovery, and I know that my recovery is happening under the surface every day every hour.

  19. Michael Sa says:

“No, you are wrong. I am already better!!!” and “No you are wrong. This is the side effects and withdrawal symptoms!!!”

    Thanks Howard!

  20. Rosalie says:

There is a real world which the present holds safe from all past mistakes and illusions. Our Source whispers love and calm into our hearts and minds. This is where the Truth resides. Observe who I am, and let illusions go. Don’t cling to what isn’t Real! What a gift that I can choose to accept Who I Am.

  21. DeAnna says:

My full recovery is growing under the visible surface
like seeds and bulbs grow stronger under the surface of the Earth, long before the first shoot is ever seen…
Like a bruise on the skin looks swollen and changes colors, while the body is fully engaged in healing it, invisibly, for as long as it takes…

Thank you, Howard, and PD warrior friends,
I’m healing as we speak, and I love myself whole heartedly, Right Now!
